How To Wash Printed T-shirts &Hoodies

When washing T-shirts and hoodies with prints, there are a few basic rules to follow so that the T-shirts are still a joy to wear even after many washes.

3 Important Tips for Washing Printed T-shirts

 1st  Tip - Turn the T-shirts/hoodies inside out before washing

To counteract the inevitable wear and tear of T-shirts/hoodies, you should definitely wash your printed T-shirts "inside out".

This will prevent the print from coming off the T-shirt prematurely or from being damaged by the friction in the washing machine. Another positive effect of washing inside out is that the fabric structure is preserved. The friction in the washing machine often causes small knots to form, which

form on the inside of the printed T-shirt/hoodie when washed inside out, instead of on the visible outside of the shirt.

2nd Tip - wash printed T-shirts/hoodies at a maximum of 30° degrees

To ensure that printed T-shirts/hoodies last as long as possible, you should not wash them too hot. Even if the label says that the T-shirt/hoodie can withstand a washing temperature of 40° degrees or more, you should avoid higher temperatures for the sake of the print. If the dirt is not too bad, a washing temperature of 30° degrees is often sufficient. This not only protects the environment due to the lower energy consumption for cooler water, but also protects the fabric structure of your shirt and in particular the print on it.

3rd Tip - using the right detergent When washing printed T-shirts, you should definitely use the right amount and the right detergent. Liquid detergent is not recommended for printed T-shirts/hoodies; even in the form of pods or beads. Instead, use washing powder instead. The best results when washing printed T-shirts/hoodies are achieved with a mild detergent powder, as it is the best way to protect the print. If you are washing white T-shirts with a print, you should definitely avoid using the right amount of detergent is just as important as the choice of detergent itself.

White detergent. This is because it contains a small amount of bleach, which can seriously damage the print on the shirt.
